I, a monk,
gone to the charnel ground,
saw a woman cast away,
	discarded
there in the cemetery.

Though some were disgusted,
seeing her — dead, evil — 
			lust
	appeared,
as if I were blind
	to the oozings.

In less time than it takes
for rice to cook,
I got out of that place.
Mindful, alert, I
sat down to one side.
Then apt attention arose in me,
the drawbacks appeared,
	disenchantment stood
	at an even keel:

With that, my heart was released.
See the Dhamma's true rightness!
The three knowledges
have been attained;
the Awakened One's bidding,
		done.






Một Tỷ-kheo đi đến
Tại một b�i tha ma,
Thấy th�n một đ�n b�,
Bị quăng tại chỗ ấy,
Vất bỏ trong nghĩa địa,
L�m mồi cho s�u ăn.

C� kẻ sinh nh�m ch�n,
Thấy th�n chết khốn nạn,
Trong ta, dục tham hiện,
Như m�, ta bị tr�i.

Mau hơn cơm s�i tr�o,
Chỗ ấy, ta đi tho�t,
Ch�nh niệm, ta tỉnh gi�c,
Ta đến, ngồi một b�n.

Rồi ta tự � t�c,
Như l� khởi tư duy,
C�c hiểm nguy hiển lộ,
Nh�m ch�n ta an tr�.

V� t�m ta giải tho�t,
Thấy Ph�p nhĩ l� vậy,
Ba minh chứng đạt được, 
Lời Phật dạy l�m xong.
