I have heard that on one occasion the Blessed One was staying near Savatthi, in Jeta's Grove, Anathapindika's monastery. Now at that time Ven. Cula Panthaka was sitting not far from the Blessed One, his legs crossed, his body held erect, with mindfulness established to the fore. The Blessed One saw Ven. Như vầy t�i nghe: Một thời Thế T�n tr� ở S�vatthi, tại Jetavana, khu vườn �ng An�thapindika. L�c bấy giờ, T�n giả C�lapanthaka ngồi kh�ng xa Thế T�n bao nhi�u, ngồi kiết gi�, lưng thẳng để niệm trước mặt. Thế T�n thấy T�n giả C�lapanthaka ngồi kh�ng xa bao nhi�u, ngồi kiết gi�, lưng thẳng để niệm trước mặt.

Then, on realizing the significance of that, the Blessed One on that occasion exclaimed:

Thế T�n, sau khi hiểu biết � nghĩa n�y, ngay trong l�c ấy, n�i l�n lời cảm hứng:

	With steady body,
	with steady awareness,
whether standing, sitting, or lying down,
a monk determined on mindfulness
gains one distinction
	after another.
Having gained one distinction
	after another,
he goes where the King of Death
		can't see.

Với th�n, t�m an tr�,
�ứng, ngồi hay nằm xuống,
Tỷ-kheo an tr� niệm,
Trước sau được th� thắng,
Trước sau được th� thắng,
Vượt tầm mắt �c ma.
